The Trinity Lightning model features the Intel® Gulftown™ with each of the 6 cores overclocked via our Single Stage Vapor Change cooling subsystem that allows us to throttle the speed up to an incredible 5.27 GHz - you experience that speed from startup to shutdown, even for long-term 24x7 computations. With a relatively recent breakthrough in Vapor Change refrigeration techniques, better temperature regulators, and more precise temperature control modules, it is now possible to deep freeze the CPU without the dreaded condensation problems. This allows us to remove all of the excess heat that gets built up from running the clock so fast.

The Gulftown™ is an amazing architecture even without overclocking, so don't be surprised if this 5.27 GHz model is over twice as fast (per core) as some 3.4 GHz systems under other architectures. You are literally experiencing technology from the future, today!

There are two configurations available for the Trinity Lightning. Here are the basic differences between them:

Trinity Lighting I = $7000 Trinity Lighting II = $8000
6 GB of fast DDR3 RAM 12 GB of fast DDR3 RAM
GTX 580 Video Card Two GTX 580 Video Cards
1 TB Hard Drive (no SSD) 128 GB SSD + 1 TB Drive
i7-980X @ 5.2 GHz i7-980X @ 5.2 GHz

Both models come with:
  • Single Stage Vapor Phase Change Cooling System maintains -40° (Celsius and Fahrenheit!) at idle and about -27° C even under a heavy load without having to worry about condensation
  • Custom modified case houses the 1200 Watt power supply and routes the vapor phase hose line from the evaporator
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (all latest patches and updates)

Pricing options with components removed:
  • No Solid State Drive: subtract $175
  • No operating system: subtract $150
  • No GTX 580 video card: subtract $300 (each)
  • No 1 TB drive: subtract $25
