Liquid Nitrogen Overclocking welcomes Mark Ciphone to our team. Mark has come up with a clever design to overclock the Intel i7-860 to 3.9 GHz using a very reliable air-cooled setup.



With three high speed fans (1500 - 1800 RPM) strategically placed, this system is cooled a full 35 degrees Celcius below what the i7-860 chip was rated to handle under normal operating conditions. One fan operates in suction mode, drawing the hot air away from and out of the case. The other two fans swirl around fast enough to drop the temperature across all four CPUs while maintaining quiet operation.

This design is able to take the "Lynnfield" from its stock configuration of 2.8 GHz all the way to up to 3.9 GHz with no problem.
