The FireHawk Mach V model features the Intel i7-990X chip overclocked to 5.50 GHz on all 6 cores, 12 GB of RAM, a 120 GB SSD used as a fast Windows 7 64-bit boot drive as well as a 2 TB Caviar Green hard drive. Two separate burners (CD/DVD and Blu-ray) are standard, with the incredibly fast GTX 580 video card. All of that amazing hardware is blended together with an eye-catching case design, making it an excellent choice for data centers and high-tech gamers alike.
The i7-990X chip is a smarter, faster, and (thermally) cooler design than its older cousin, the Gulftown (i7-980X). The newer chip gets more instructions executed per unit time than the i7-980X does, and with a lower heat profile, it can be accelerated to an amazing 5.50 GHz.
Standard configuration:
- Intel Core i7-990X (6 cores total) overclocked to 5.50 GHz
- Single Stage Vapor Phase Change Cooling System maintains -40° (Celsius and Fahrenheit!) at idle and about -27° C even under a heavy load without having to worry about condensation
- Custom modified case houses the 1200 Watt power supply and routes the vapor phase hose line from the evaporator
- 12 GB of very fast DDR3 RAM
- GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 580 video card
- Western Digital Caviar Green 2 TB SATA II HD @ 3.0 GB/second
- Intel X25-M 120 GB Solid State Drive (SSD)
- Sony Optiarc CD/DVD burner
- Sony DVD & Blu-ray burner
- Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (all latest patches and updates)
Upgraded configuration:
- Each additional GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 580: add $550
- For a total of 24 GB RAM: add $250
